The Hong Kong government has assigned him as one of the designated judges, for handling cases related to the recently imposed national security law by the Chinese government (“高院法官周家明獲任指定法官”, 2020).
他獲香港政府委任，成為指定審理「港區國安法」相關案件的法官，協助中國政府剝奪香港人之人權及自由。
